Back to school! Astro-tips for students’ parents
The stationery was bought, the uniforms were ironed, and the teacher's bouquet was ordered. But how can you make your child's school years truly wonderful? The key is understanding and working with their Mercury.
Why Mercury? In astrology, there’s a system of periods, and Mercury governs the age of learning—from 7 to 14 years old. This planet in a person’s horoscope is responsible for intellect and the way information is absorbed. It's crucial to recognize that each child has a method of processing information, which depends on the placement of Mercury in their horoscope. Some kids need to see the text to activate their photographic memory. For others, the auditory channel works best; they remember information better when they hear it. Some children need to write things down and say them out loud to fully grasp the material.
Mercury’s direction is North. Check how your child’s study desk is positioned at home. If you place the desk so that your child faces north, they will absorb information more easily. This is especially effective if there’s a window in the northern direction. For successful studying, this direction mustn't be cluttered with junk.
If your child is fidgety and struggles to sit down and do their homework, try having them face west. The direction of Saturn will lend seriousness to a restless student. Adding blue tones to their clothing and the room's decor can also help.
Mercury’s day is Wednesday. On this day of the week, your child’s brain is better tuned to absorb information than on other days. It's the perfect time to schedule lessons with tutors and other extracurricular activities.
Mercury’s Color is Green. Opt for a green backpack, notebooks, a green chair, and interior decor items. Remember, that classic writers often had desks with green felt tops. Choose rich, pleasing shades of green. Adding neon touches to your child’s room can energize them and enhance their learning capacity.
Parents of students should avoid extremes and remember that quality rest is just as important as studying. A trip to nature, where there’s soil and grass, can harmonize Mercury and the Moon, easing mental stress. If your child is exhausted from intellectual work, a walk can help them unwind before finishing their homework. A warm bath in the evening will calm them, relieve the day’s tension, and help clear their mind of excess information.
The best way to nurture Mercury in pupils is through frequent and honest conversations with their parents. Teach your child to express their fears, feelings, and emotions. Approach these with understanding and acceptance, and no school difficulties will overshadow your relationship.
