On July 18, a new multimedia exhibition titled “Jadids: Letters to Turkestan” will open at Tashkent City Mall, dedicated to the initiatives of the Jadids in the field of education and enlightenment. The exhibition sheds light on the history of students from Turkestan who were sent to study in Germany. An entire space of over 1,400 square meters has been allocated for this exhibition within the mall.

The exhibition aims to draw public attention to an important chapter in the history of Central Asia. Jadidism, a progressive movement that emerged in the early 20th century, played a crucial role in reforming the educational system of the region.

The exhibition is divided into several sections, each accompanied by visual and audio installations in three languages, offering visitors a unique immersive experience. These sections, featuring archival materials collected by Bahrom Irzaev, Ph.D. in historical sciences, provide a deep dive into the past.

The scenography and sound design of the exhibition are presented through multimedia projections that depict the history of the Jadids and their pursuit of education and national independence. The exhibition space is divided into five chronological and thematic zones, narrating the story of the students during the Jadidism era.

The exhibition will be open daily from July 18, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
