When restaurants become more than places to eat, when they transform into stages for sensual performances, you’ll find the Sun Group restaurant holding behind the curtain, led by international restaurateur Alexander Orlov. In July, Tashkent hosted two grand events: the opening of the Georgian restaurant Manana and the second iteration of the Italian CuCucina.
Two evenings, two continents of flavor – and one impeccable sense of style.
Manana: Georgian sunshine in a glass of wineOn July 17, Manana officially opened its doors, but it felt more like opening a heart. Set to a live performance by Irakli (yes, the one behind “Vova-Chuma,” “London-Paris,” “Absinthe Drops”), the evening turned into a true Georgian celebration. Khinkali served on silver, khachapuri that looked like art, and a magical atmosphere where every toast felt like a love letter to life. The evening’s star guest – an irresistibly charming sheep named Manana – became an instant Instagram icon. With its cozy interior and flavors that evoke Tbilisi, the restaurant has already become a new gastronomic magnet in the capital. CuCucina: as if Milan came to dinner
The next evening, July 18, emotions shifted to Italian chic. The second CuCucina location became a stage for operatic arias sung by “incognito” vocalists, a Sgroppino bar show, dancing waiters, and a giveaway of a year’s supply of Italian passion – pasta, pizza, and wine. The new restaurant offers an intimate, luxurious experience, featuring a veranda that serves rye pizza topped with oysters and desserts worthy of any gourmet’s Instagram feed. CuCucina is a place where you don’t just eat – you live out a cinematic evening set to the soundtrack of Ennio Morricone.Sun Group: when gastronomy becomes a philosophy
The third major launch by Sun Group in Uzbekistan this year isn’t just a restaurant opening – it’s a cultural statement. Inspired by international trends and seasoned with local soul, the group creates dining concepts that function as art spaces, where taste is a language and atmosphere is an emotion.
Manana is for family dinners, heartfelt toasts, and khinkali like grandma made in Tbilisi.
CuCucina is for aesthetes, music lovers, and those who eat with their eyes.
And if gastronomy is the new luxury, Sun Group speaks its language – flawlessly, without an accent.
