Matthieu Blazy named new creative director of Chanel
He will officially assume his role in April 2025
The House of Chanel has announced Matthieu Blazy as its new creative director, succeeding Virginie Viard, who stepped down from the position in June 2024.
Matthieu Blazy, formerly with Bottega Veneta, will join Chanel's team and officially begin his duties in April 2025. He will oversee the creation of couture, ready-to-wear collections, and the brand's accessory lines. Blazy’s first collection for Chanel is set to debut in October 2025.
«We hope to work together for 10–15 years or even longer. This is just the beginning of our story. Together, we have the opportunity to write a new chapter for the brand», – said Chanel president Bruno Pavlovsky.
Pavlovsky also revealed that two other candidates were also considered for the role of creative director.
