The Quiet Strength of Form
Femininity does not need to be demonstrative. It reveals itself through movement, light, texture, and quiet confidence.
At the heart of the shoot is the Alluvial collection by Dutch designer Annelijn Hartevelt. Her work draws on natural forms and textures, combining them with a contemporary approach to leather craftsmanship. Wrinkled leather has become one of the brand’s most recognizable signatures: the material takes on an almost sculptural quality, turning bags, tops, and accessories into objects in their own right.
In the images, textured leather meets smooth satin, soft jersey, and crisp white cotton. Structured forms give way to lighter silhouettes, while garments alternately follow the lines of the body and create their own volume around it. These contrasts establish the visual rhythm of the story.
Fashion Director Nike Huiberts and photographer Joy Berdina approach the body as part of the composition. Pose, gesture, and movement become as important as the clothes themselves, while the minimalist setting leaves light, silhouette, and texture to take center stage. The story is accompanied by a film shot by Nino Kennis on 16mm film. The analogue grain and softness of the image lend the frames a cinematic, timeless quality.
At the center of the shoot is model Jeske van der Pal. Her restrained presence emphasizes the central dialogue of the story — between the strength of form and the lightness of movement.
