Missoni co-founder Rosita Missoni passes away
The designer was 93 years old
On January 2, the world bid farewell to Rosita Missoni, the designer and co-founder of the globally recognized Missoni brand. Born in 1931 in Golasecca, Rosita grew up in a family that owned an embroidery factory. In 1948, during a visit to London, she met her future husband.
In 1953, the couple launched a knitwear workshop under the name Missoni, which later evolved into a renowned fashion house. The brand became synonymous with its distinctive zigzag patterns and flawlessly smooth seams, the hallmarks that set Missoni apart in the fashion world. In 1997, the couple entrusted the leadership of the fashion house to their children.
