Miguel Castro Freitas is an experienced designer with a rich professional background. A graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins in 2004, he worked on John Galliano’s team at Dior, later joined Yves Saint Laurent under Stefano Pilati, and collaborated with Alber Elbaz at Lanvin. He also held the position of design director at Christian Dior during Raf Simons’ tenure.

“Manfred Thierry Mugler was one of the greatest couturiers of the 20th century – the one who redefined the power and boundaries of fashion. Together with the team, I am excited to add my own story and emotions to this legacy,” says Miguel.

Since Mugler’s acquisition by beauty giant L'Oréal in 2019, the brand has been actively reinventing its approach to fashion collections. This new appointment reflects its continued commitment to innovation and a fresh perspective on modern style.
