How to wear fragrance?
Coco Chanel once advised to apply perfume wherever you want to be kissed. But how do you maintain the longevity of your favorite fragrance, and what application secrets are known today?
A gentle touch
Traditionally, favorite perfumes are applied to "pulse points" - behind the ears, on the wrists, the bend of the elbow, knees, and sometimes on the nape of the neck. This method is ideal if you favor long-lasting compositions like musky, oud, and chypre scents with oils. It's also perfect for romantic dates.
Do you prefer eau de toilette? You can spray it around your head or from a distance onto your hair and clothes (be careful not to stain delicate or light fabrics).
Aphrodite's step
This method of applying fragrance is named after the Greek goddess of love and beauty. The essence is to spray a cloud of scent in front of you and walk through it. This envelops you in a scented mist and prevents you from overapplying the fragrance.
Undercover
One of the hacks is applying eau de toilette to areas of the body covered by clothing. The warmth of your skin helps the fragrance "bloom," while the fabric prevents it from evaporating quickly. For example, this method is very convenient if you wear a maxi dress, abaya, or a long-sleeved blouse made of thin fabric in summer. A good trailing scent can last all day (around 8-10 hours).
Scented towel
This option is great for summer, especially if you love light eau de toilettes and colognes. Fresh fruity, citrus, marine, and floral notes don't last long but nothing compares to them in terms of lightness and joy in the heat. Spray your fragrant water onto your bath towel and wrap yourself in it after a shower. Summer is made for pleasure, isn't it?
