Rabanne unveils the most expensive bag in the world
Crafted from 18-karat gold
The fashion house Rabanne has showcased the world’s most expensive bag during their latest show. The Handcrafted 1969 Golden Bag pays homage to “the most expensive dress in the world,” which was made from gold plates and diamonds. The founder, Paco Rabanne, created this iconic dress for French singer and style icon Françoise Hardy back in 1968.
The Golden Bag is crafted from 18-karat gold by the artisans of Rabanne’s atelier in collaboration with French jeweler Arthus Bertrand. The value of this luxurious piece is estimated at €250,000.
The brand also introduced alternative versions of The Handcrafted 1969 bag: one made of Murano glass in partnership with the Venetian house Venini, known for its stunning marble color effects, and a ceramic version created at the Parisian workshop Astier de Villatte.
