Ralph Lauren receives the Presidential Medal of Freedom
The U.S. President honors the designer’s contribution to American style, culture, and society
Ralph Lauren has become the first designer to be awarded one of the two highest civilian honors in the United States. The award ceremony took place on January 4 in Washington, D.C. At 85 years old, Lauren has already been honored twice with The Coty American Fashion Critics’ Awards for women's fashion design, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award, the title of "Legend of American Fashion," and numerous accolades from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards.
