Simon Porte Jacquemus becomes a supervisor for Christie’s exhibition and auction
The exhibition will feature works by sculptor François-Xavier Lalanne
The creative director of the Jacquemus brand, Simon Porte Jacquemus, will curate an exhibition and auction at Christie’s in New York. The exhibition will showcase works by French sculptor François-Xavier Lalanne.
The sculptures will be provided by the artist’s daughter, Dorothée Lalanne, giving the exhibition its title: Francois-Xavier Lalanne Sculpteur: Collection Dorothée Lalanne.
“I’m so excited to work with Christie’s and Dorothée Lalanne. I envisioned this as a dreamlike installation at the intersection of reality and poetry,” the designer noted.
On his Instagram account, Simon invited followers to tag their favorite contemporary artists for new discoveries, including painters, sculptors, photographers, filmmakers, and others.
The exhibition will run from October 4 to 10 at Rockefeller Center, with an auction featuring the sculptor’s works on the final day.
