For the third year in a row, the collective is hosting the QizGap Festival on March 8. This year’s event will run from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Tashkent Film School, featuring a vibrant program of lectures, workshops, film screenings, poetry readings, collage making, yoga, a clothing swap, book exchange, tarot readings, live music, and dancing.

Events will be held in Uzbek, Russian, and English, with some sessions offering sign language interpretation.

Anastasia Sever, co-founder of Qizlar, shared insights about this year’s festival:

«This year, we’re offering a richer program. Instead of two zones like in previous years, we now have four: a lecture zone, two workshop zones, and film screenings in the Kinoxona theater. One of the screenings will be curated by the collective maqaal.

The lecture series will cover topics such as physical and mental health, women's and children's rights, poetry, and personal experiences. Our workshops are also expanding, with a stronger focus on creative fields.

We are proud to continue our partnership with sign language interpreters from Sharoit+, ensuring that all lectures are accessible to people with hearing impairments.

The musical program will feature DJ sets and live performances, keeping the festive energy high throughout the day. Attendees can also participate in a clothing swap, organized by SWAP General, and a book exchange. Merchandise for this year’s event is being created in collaboration with female artists through an open call, and special keychains and charms, designed with ecojon lab, will be available. All proceeds from their sales will be donated to animal shelters.

As in previous years, the festival will promote sustainability by eliminating single-use cups. Instead, reusable mugs will be available for rent, with proceeds supporting the "Rahmdillik" and "Oydin Nur" shelters.

We hope that everyone finds something inspiring within our program and chooses to spend this meaningful day with us – learning, sharing, and simply enjoying themselves,» Anastasia added.

The Qizlar collective extends its gratitude to Tashkent Film School, which is generously providing the space for the festival this year.
