Thigh-high boots: the bold trend of fall 2024

Runways were dominated by thigh-high and even hip-high boots this season. Over-the-knee boots have made a triumphant return to the fashion scene, driven by the resurgence of ’70s trends and boho-chic influences.

Gucci presented flat-soled styles, offering options in deep burgundy and khaki colors. Meanwhile, Chloé introduced heeled thigh-highs, suggesting they be worn with everything from shorts to flowing dresses.

Fendi brought back thigh-highs for the Fall-Winter 2024 season with a wide shaft, Burberry showcased them with chunky soles, Versace added a decorative element at the thigh reminiscent of equestrian boots, and Bally featured versions adorned with studded toes.

Fashion houses have shown that over-the-knee boots aren’t limited to the classic snug, stocking-like fit; relaxed options are also gaining popularity. The color palette is expansive, ranging from classic black to deep green, burgundy, and ochre.
