The Paris exhibition "Worth: Inventing Haute Couture" at the Petit Palais Museum traces the history of the House of Worth – the very first haute couture house, founded by Charles Frederick Worth in 1858. The exhibition features over 400 pieces, including rare garments such as the famous “Lily Dress” by Countess Greffulhe.

The House of Worth laid the foundation for the modern fashion industry, introducing seasonal collections and fashion shows. After Worth’s death, his successors adapted the brand to evolving styles, pushing further boundaries in the 1920s. The exhibition, five years in the making, highlights Worth’s lasting influence on Parisian luxury and global fashion.
