Three Shades of Gold and an Archival Serpenti: New Bvlgari Tubogas Jewellery
Bvlgari expands its Tubogas collection with five new jewellery pieces. The new releases include an asymmetric diamond set, a necklace combining three shades of gold, and rounded half-hoop earrings.
In the 1970s, the flexible gold Tubogas coil became one of Bvlgari’s most recognisable signatures. Its name references the gas pipes used in the 1920s, while its smooth, ribbed surface is the result of a complex technique: strips of gold are interlocked without soldering. This construction allows the jewellery to remain flexible and gently follow the contours of the body.
In the new designs, the House explores asymmetry. An archival Serpenti Tubogas bracelet-watch dating from around 1974 served as the starting point for a yellow-gold necklace, bracelet and earrings set with diamonds. The Tubogas coil gradually widens towards the ends, finishing with striking geometric elements covered in diamond pavé. Polished gold surfaces emphasise the clean, precise lines of the pieces.
To achieve this variation in width while preserving the flexibility of Tubogas, Bvlgari’s artisans developed a special stepped framework. This highly intricate technique, rooted in the House’s high-jewellery expertise, is being used in the main Bvlgari Tubogas collection for the first time.
The open bracelet wraps once around the wrist, with its asymmetric ends overlapping one another. In the necklace, the same motif becomes the central focal point. More than 17 hours of craftsmanship are required to create the piece, while a sliding clasp allows the wearer to adjust its length and alter the way it sits on the body.
Another new addition is a necklace alternating yellow, white and rose gold. Each strand is drawn by hand before the three shades are combined in a flat Tubogas construction. Here, the focus is on the rhythm of the gold bands and the subtle transitions between colours. The design complements an existing bracelet featuring the same combination of metals.
Completing the new additions are half-hoop earrings in yellow gold, designed as a counterpart to a previously released ring. Their soft, rounded shape offers a more understated interpretation of Tubogas, allowing its signature texture and the lustre of the metal to take centre stage without additional embellishment.
According to the House, the new Bvlgari Tubogas jewellery will arrive in boutiques worldwide from September 2026.
