The October bridal presentations in New York offered an early look at wedding dressing for 2027, with designers giving familiar romantic silhouettes a more expressive finish.

Full ballgowns and extended trains were prominent across the collections, while intricate lace and carefully worked surfaces drew attention to craftsmanship. The result was a compelling case for making the ceremony dress a statement in its own right.

At Lihi Hod, that sense of drama took a cinematic turn. The designer presented her Fall 2027 collection, Odyssée, alongside the opening of her first US flagship in New York’s Chelsea neighbourhood on 12 October. Inspired by fantasy heroines from 1980s cinema, the collection paired sculpted corsets with generous sleeves and sweeping layers of fabric. A restrained silk gown gained presence through a dramatic cape, while embellished separates offered another approach to the bridal silhouette.

Mira Zwillinger explored a softer expression of volume. Her seven-look Fall/Winter 2027 couture capsule, Rise Above, featured botanical embroidery and dimensional flowers across airy skirts. Structured mikado bodices gave the light fabrics definition, creating a balance between precision and movement.

Together, these collections suggest a wedding wardrobe built around memorable details: the line of a corset, the movement of a sleeve, a flower caught between layers of tulle. For brides beginning their search, they offer several ways to make romance feel personal.
