Bridal Metamorphoses at Vivienne Westwood
Corsets, lace and transforming gowns in the 2027 Couture and Made-to-Order collections
British fashion house Vivienne Westwood has unveiled its Bridal 2027 collections across two lines: Couture and Made-to-Order. Signature corsetry and draping meet lace, voluminous skirts and delicate tulle veils, while the idea of transformation becomes part of the bridal wardrobe itself.

Metamorphosis is at the heart of Couture. Eleven looks draw on the butterfly and the bride’s transition from ceremony to celebration. Detachable trains, interchangeable elements and bustle systems allow a single gown to take on several forms. Its silhouette can evolve throughout the day, following the bride’s mood.

Made-to-Order continues this exploration of transformation through memory and self-expression: the house considers a wedding dress as a garment whose story can continue long after the wedding. Recognisable corset construction and carefully considered draping define the silhouette, while new laces bring texture.

In the campaign, full ballgowns appear alongside fitted lace dresses and a short style finished with a small bow. Bare shoulders, elongated corset lines, voluminous sleeves and sheer layers offer different interpretations of bridal dressing. Long gloves, pearl jewellery and statement headpieces with veiling complete the looks.

The campaign was photographed in the historic interiors and gardens of Syon House, as well as its Victorian Great Conservatory. Bookshelves, marble columns, sculptures and the glass dome emphasise the theatrical quality of the collections. Against this backdrop, Westwood’s character comes into focus: an eye for historical dress, a bold approach to proportion and the freedom to shape a wedding day on one’s own terms.
