India and Couture: Giambattista Valli unveiled new collection
The show took place during the Paris Fashion Week
Creative Director of the fashion house Giambattista Valli drew inspiration from Indian culture. The Fall-Winter 2024 collection is a reflection of his frequent trips to Jaipur. To immerse the audience in the atmosphere of the country, Valli invited Indian musicians to perform.
Indian motifs in the collection were presented not in a direct, but a surrealistic context. The famous painting “Spring” by Botticelli was used in the mood board and served as inspiration for the creation of the new season’s couture line.
The designer believes in the healing power of beauty. Flowers, in turn, are its highest embodiment. This is why the collection features a significant number of looks adorned with peonies emerging from draped silk, roses blooming on corsets, and irises that seem to “scatter.” The bodies and faces of the models were decorated with casually scattered flower petals.
