In 2024, French Maison Hermès unveiled a new fragrance, Barénia, inspired by a spirit of adventurous elegance. Created by the brilliant Christine Nagel, this chypre composition is a bold statement for those who seek to stand out, appreciating the art of perfumery in its deepest form.

Barénia evokes the feel of rare leather, alive and multifaceted, revealing its unique texture with every movement. This material, a favorite among Hermès artisans, inspired Christine Nagel to craft a composition that captures the singular spirit of leather with a modern touch.

For years, Nagel developed the idea of a fragrance that was more than a project; it was her true expression of passion for the Hermès legacy. Her mission was to capture the essence of Barénia leather in a scent for the fearless, elegant, and mysterious woman.

Barénia unfolds as a captivating journey: fresh green bergamot gives way to the sweetness of rare sinsepalum, adding a mysterious depth. At its heart lies the delicate scent of butterfly lily, leaving a light yet unforgettable trace, like a dance on the edge of light and shadow. Base notes of earthy patchouli and warm oak lend the perfume a sense of nobility and endurance, leaving a layered, refined trail on the skin.

The Barénia bottle is inspired by the design of the Collier de Chien bracelet – a blend of softness and strength. Feminine lines intertwine with metal accents and studs, symbolizing the boldness and sophistication of the fragrance.
