Evgenia Kim reimagines Uzbek domestic interiors in a folding chair
The JKim founder presents Folding Chair at the Designed in Uzbekistan exhibition in Tashkent.
Moving from clothing to object design, Evgenia Kim has turned to the interiors of Uzbek homes of the 1970s. They provided the starting point for Folding Chair, a folding seat presented at Designed in Uzbekistan as part of Tashkent Design Week 2026.

The work brings a familiar household object into the context of contemporary collectible design. Interiors of the past become a source of new forms, while an everyday object invites reflection on the spaces where habits and family stories took shape.
The exhibition brings together furniture, lighting and decorative objects by Uzbek and international designers. Folding Chair is on view at Tashkent City Mall until November 1.
